A Travel Advisor for a retail travel agency deals directly with customers. Their role is to offer advice and support as well as make bookings in order to provide the best holiday service for customers.
Personal skills
This position is most commonly achieved via an apprenticeship. Entry is usually available to anyone from school leaver up. Training for the relevant skills and qualifications leading to NVQ level 3 is generally carried out inhouse. Skills: good communication skills; team-working; adaptability and flexibility; good numeracy and literacy skills; good geographical knowledge.
