An Emergency Response Unit Apprentice is trained to respond to emergent situations within the London Underground system including power failures, derailments and major security incidents. ERU personnel provide on-site engineering support for the underground system to ensure unforeseen events cause minimal disruption to the service.
Personal skills
No formal qualifications apply as inhouse training forms a key part of the apprenticeship although basic GCSEs in maths and english would be helpful. The apprenticeship offers education to HND and even degree level. Skills: good technical skills; a willingness to learn; communication skills; team-working; good literacy and numeracy skills.

£14,000 to £19,000 per year
